Urban Servant Trip 2011

We are thrilled to announce that our synod’s next servant trip will be to Detroit, Michigan. We're going to Detroit for many reasons.  Especially after the economic downturn, Detroit is a city that is struggling.  We hope to be a part of the bringing of hope to the city and its people.  Detroit is a part of the Southeast Michigan (SEMI) Synod.  Our SEPA Synod and the SEMI Synod are partner synods in the ELCA.  We hope this trip will be the first of many opportunities to build relationships with our brothers and sisters of SEMI.

Registration for the Detroit Servant Trip opens October 1.  Download the registration letter now for more information!

South Dakota Servant Trip

The South Dakota Servant Trip is full.

Participants - click here to download important documents like the covenant, release forms and hand outs from our June 6th meeting.

Our Synod Servant Trip will be July 1-12, 2010 and is open to youth in grades 9-12 (in the 2009-2010 school year) and their adult leaders.

The group will spend some time in Rapid City seeing sites like Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park, continuing with group building and doing additional learning around Native American culture. We will journey to the Rosebud and Crow Creek reservations on Sunday, July 4th. Roughly 70 participants will serve on the Rosebud reservation doing hands on work projects and running a day camp for local children. About forty people from our group will travel further east and north to the Crow Creek Reservation to do hands on work projects.
